Not the proposed new system!

The consulting engineers appointed to examine our heating system and make recommendations have done so. The conclusions are reproduced below;


It is strongly recommended that reducing carbon emissions be the deciding factor in determining the future heating for the church.

There is little doubt that using locally produced wood chip would provide the lowest possible carbon emissions since they are considered to be carbon neutral. However, there are considerable practical problems in adopting this fuel and in the circumstances it is considered that the next best option, Option D is the preferred choice. This consists of underfloor heating served by condensing gas-fired boilers.
The capital cost of this option is relatively high and it needs to be further examined in conjunction with architectural and other inputs before its cost and viability can be confirmed.
