This newsletter marks something of a milestone. The community audit is now complete and I have spoken with over 60 individuals from Christ Church about their giftings and desire to serve God. Thanks also to those who supported me in prayer or in person as I preached at Christ Church on 15th February. I have been praying that the apostolic would ‘catch’ amongst the congregation and for God to disseminate this work now across a wider group of ‘carriers’. I felt that 15th Feb was pivotal; we spoke of the Kingdom and dying to self. You can hear this if you follow the link:‘.

Projects….green lights:

(i) Jane and her team have already begun with the detached youth work. Pray for good relationships with the young people and for God to break through.
(ii) Carla and Ruth will join me in facilitating the Newtown Playgroup which begins around Easter. We have built on an ongoing relationship with the Salvation Army and will work in partnership with them. This group will meet on Tuesdays at 10am in term time. I have contact with 10 women and their children who are being invited personally, and others may respond through our latest community newsletter, being disseminated to 700+ homes throughout the estate during the service on 1st March.

Projects…..on amber:-

(iii) A report concerning the refurbishment of our community building is being prepared for the Parochial Church Council which meets mid March. If the proposals are given the go-ahead, architects can begin to draw up plans and we can start to fund raise and begin the much-needed work to make our community resource water-tight, warm and welcoming. Pray for Johanna as she does the lion’s share of this work (whilst also caring for her newborn!).
(iv) Several people have responded about being involved in the after school club for junior children. They are both trained, experienced in working with young people and feel God is asking them to get involved! This needs more prayer before we begin. We now need to identify families who might use this facility.
(v) The poster offering for church to go out to the local sheltered accommodation has not been put up yet even though it was personally taken to the manager, (David) a month ago! Please pray. I still feel we need to bring church here.

God has reminded me this month that He is the God of the small as well as the big. He really will do anything to demonstrate His love and power to those who do not yet know Him. Several new local families, unchurched, have also begun to attend church last month.

I’ve written lots about the ‘projects’, (above) as they need to be steeped in prayer. However, I do not want to forget that to God these people are so much more than ‘projects’. He knows them each by name. I am praying we can get to do the same.
