Report by Ian from the meditation session held later the same day.

On Sunday evening about 15 of us met in Church to explore a kind of Christian meditation. It is a kind of reflection that I have found to be ever more central to my relation to God, since being introduced to it myself last year. Based on the idea that we don’t have to think about ourselves or about God to be in his presence the meditation was a practice of silence. Focusing on a silent inward repetition of a repeated word helped us to avoid distraction and journey into a deeper timeless silence where slowly we discover that God is always present, and closer than we can imagine.
